I had, today, a chance to try King Gyros for the first time. This place has been in Whitehall for 18 years. I don’t know why I hadn’t found it sooner. It was the TasteCasting event which turned me on to this jewel on Hamilton Rd between Main and Broad.
I had followed the TasteCasting event, while in Orlando FL, via Twitter. The descriptions and photos drew me to this place. My wife and two dear friends, who also enjoy Greek food, joined me for lunch. We all tried a different menu item so we could share. I ordered the cabbage rolls with lemon chicken soup. Rose ordered a gyro and pita with humus. All were pleased with what they recieved and the shared items.
Rose and I had a more than you can eat lunch for just over $17. You cant beat that. It was so kind of Yianni Chalkias to give us desert on top of all the fine food we had enjoyed.
This is a place to return to when ever we are near Whitehall.
